After operating out of an old church building for 5 years, YWAM Queenstown purchased a former lodge in 2019 to be our home. The property had been visited by our base leaders before, but they did not feel like it was right at that time. Years later, after outgrowing the old church, we were in desperate need of a new place to call home. As the leaders prayed and sought God, 2019 was the right year and God made a way to purchase the lodge.
With room for classrooms, offices, and dining, the base is exactly what we had prayed for over the previous years. Additionally, the grounds are full of grassy lawns, secluded spots, and stunning views of the Remarkables mountain range that towers over the property. It is a daily reminder of God’s miraculous provision.
Accommodations for our students and volunteer-staff have changed over the years, and we have rented a variety of properties in the Frankton/Queenstown area. Now, all of our students and volunteer-staff live on the base property (with the exception of some of our married couples). We have plans to build more accommodation and office space in the future as our base grows!
