Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire - Hebrews 12:28-29
Grow, challenge and strengthen your relationship with God, discover what it means to live a lifestyle of true worship and use your passion to help God’s glory reach the nations!
The Worship DTS in YWAM Queenstown is for those who want to learn how to worship God in a way that is pleasing to Him. Worship is so much more than a moment during a church service or songs that we sing. In this DTS, we will be focusing on living out of what the Bible teaches us about worship, and how to present ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God, which is our spiritual worship (Rom.12.1).
YWAM's motto and the heart of the Discipleship Training School is to "know God and make Him known". On lecture phase you will have daily lectures on the full range of DTS topics with amazing teaching from guest speakers, group and one-on-one mentoring, prayer and bible study times, all within a community environment. Worship will of course have a priority, including regular worship times, trying out different forms of worship and 24/7 worship/prayer nights, and the opportunity to serve in the worship department at our base. You will also be part of local outreach to Queenstown’s many visitors and backpackers, and activities to explore the beauty of New Zealand’s South Island.
Then, put everything you have learned into practice on outreach phase. Pack your bags for the opportunity to travel cross-culturally on a 2-3 month overseas outreach to the South Pacific or South-East Asia. You'll experience a variety of different ministries and develop skills as you continue the process of figuring out what plans God has for your life to impact this world for Jesus.
This Worship DTS is not for those who seek the spotlight, but for those whose hearts are burning for God's presence and want to learn how to become carriers of it anywhere they go. Develop a habit of continual worship in all that you do, whether you are (or want to be): a worship leader, play an instrument, sing, song-write, paint, dance, or involved in worship supporting ministries (sound, lyrics etc), or just have a heart to go deep into the Lord’s presence in worship and praise.
Suitable for all levels - no musical ability required! If you have a heart to understand what it means to worship in spirit and truth, this DTS is for you.
Beginner lessons in instruments/voice etc are not part of the curriculum. You are welcome to bring instruments with you that you already play. But the most important thing to bring is a heart with a passion to worship, grow in your relationship with God, and experience His presence.
